Château Black is a Belgian, dark-roasted specialty malt. It enhances the aroma of character beers by producing a more stringent flavor than other colored malts. Imparts a slight burnt or smoky flavor and rich, dark color. Black malt is most commonly used in darker beers, especially stouts and porters.
